Pa Rum Pum Pum Pum

Monday June 12

It's currently Tue (very early) but these days are SO packed, I always seem to fall asleep by the time I get to my computer...and then I wait for the pics to load and realize I've fallen asleep at least 3-4 times. Now I'm up listening to the insanely loud dryer so I'll write about yesterday so  I don't get behind.

Breakfast was the same except no cute chocolate milk...but I did have one of these grapefruit jellies, which pretty much just tasted like the pulp of the grapefruit in jello. It was good :)
Then it was back on the bus and I finally saw the statue of King Sejong and we took some time to visit the river that goes thru the city...since that's not a great description, I found this. Haha, I should've found a link for most places we visited. I also finally took my camera along and got pics on something other than my phone.

Next we went to the changing of the guard ceremony. They don't do this anymore except as a tourist attraction.

Then we visited the King's Palace and learned more about how the King lived...5 meals a day, never walked anywhere...guess how long they lived!!

There were tons of people in hanbok (tourists) and the best was the two girls making a YouTube video?

There were living quarters (where the king slept in 2 different spots each night so no one would know) and the meeting house (party place?) where you'd get fired if you couldn't make it back down the stairs at the end of the night...can't hold your liquor=can't protect the king.

Then it was Market, then bookstore. Lol, I just started taking pics of the signs since I know I can't remember all the names!! Got the BEST smoothie at the Market...for only $2.80. It's interesting that souvenirs/products are so cheap, yet fruit smoothies are also cheap, considering that fresh fruit/produce are so expensive here. The bookstore was just filled with cute stuff. There's a huge line of storybook products...finally broke down and bought some Anne of Green Gables products.

People had lunch at this enormous bookstore, but I just couldn't keep eating 3 meals a day...just not used to it. So I had some trusty PB and I'm so glad because being hungry for dinner was SOOO worth it!!!

Next was the tea ceremony...and seriously, it was up like 7 (million) hills!! You'd think with ALL the walking we've been doing, I would be losing my belly roll, but I guess the food is negating all the exercise.

HAHAHA...I liked how the teacher got a call on his flip phone during the ceremony :)
Then we went thru a street that we'd been thru after church Sun and it was filled with street vendors (and some delicious looking treats and some ...interesting looking treats). We were all so exhausted and had NO idea what to expect with our next event...Nanta...but we were VERY pleasantly surprised. It was SOOOOOOOO good, SOOOOOOOO funny, such amazing percussion playing...did I mention hilarious? This video doesn't do it justice but if you ever have a chance to see it in NYC (Cookin'), see it!!

The brochure says they perform 3 times a week, 365 days a year in 3 theaters. We couldn't take pics, of course, but SERIOUSLY...the girl in it? I was like, please tell me she's wearing one of those aprons that has the drawn on stomach muscles. Oh my gosh... and then she takes off even more and her back and arm muscles...WHAT??? And she had perfect Asiany hair and I'm not sure she even sweat. She was AMAZING!!!! Oh, and she played amazingly too. HAHAHA

By now I was finally hungry and we were having BURGERS for dinner! Woohoo!!! I got The Boss...and it was AMAZING. Three or four different kinds of cheeses, bacon, and a big ol' egg on top. OH. MY. GOODNESS.

I'm just gonna leave those pics medium size (even though they deserve to be extra large size).

BUT, that's the day and I believe my dryer load just got finished so perfect timing. Who knew I could get so much done by 6:48am. I have to finish packing, go eat breakfast and we're off to...somewhere far. LOL
